How many single men are on Yahoo's Gay Personals compared to dating services that focus only on gay and lesbian singles?

We ran sample searches at Yahoo Personals and Glimpse.com, a leading same-sex personals site. We attempted to make this an apple-to-apples comparison by using all the same variables: zip code, search radius, age range, picture preferences, etcera. In our same-sex search for gay men, Glimpse.com returned 356 matches and Yahoo Personals returned 314 matches.

Of course, raw numbers do not tell the whole story. All this means is that the largest general dating sites such as Yahoo Personals have enough members to be "deep" in specialty searches, too. In this case, both the general service and the specialty service have enough members to warrant at least a quick search.
