eHarmony Search Options

No Searching Necessary

Once again, eHarmony is different.

Unlike other online personals sites, you do not need to actively search with eHarmony. Enter the detailed questionnaire and eHarmony will search for your matches. In this way it is more like an electronic matchmaker than a do-it-yourself personals service.

To some people, this might seem like a limitation. but it does seem more conducive to communication. In other systems where everyone searches everyone, it is possible that the majority of responses go to a small percentage of popular profiles. With eHarmony, the response figures to be more evenly distributed.

"My Match Settings"

You can use the "My Match Settings" area to actively toggle some of the make-or-break criteria for finding your match. For example, here are the options for maximum search distance.

• In my city (within 30 mi/50 km)
• In my metropolitan area (within 60 mi/100 km)
• In my state (within 120 mi/ 200 km)
• In my region (within 300 mi/500 km)
• In my country
• Anywhere in the World!
• (specific countries)

The option exists to refine your match settings based on religion, children, education, ethnicity, smoking, drinking, and age range.
